Manimeswaram (మణిమేశ్వరం) is a Gram Panchayat village in Bantumilli Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. Its name honours Lord Manikeswara — a form of Lord Shiva — reflecting the deep faith of its Telugu-speaking people. Located in the fertile Krishna river delta, the village has been a place of cultivation and devotion for generations.
Located 7 km from mandal HQ Bantumilli, 13 km from Pedana town, and 23 km from district capital Machilipatnam, the village is well-connected by road and serves as its own Gram Panchayat under the Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency.

With 280+ hectares of canal-irrigated farmland fed by the Krishna river, Manimeswaram's economy is rooted in agriculture and aquaculture. Nearly 99% of workers are in full-year employment.
Rice (paddy) is the dominant crop, cultivated across the canal-irrigated fields of the Krishna delta. The village benefits from consistent water supply for two annual harvests.
Black gram (minumullu) is an important secondary crop, providing protein nutrition and supplementary income to farming families during the rabi season alongside paddy cultivation.
Aquaculture is a major and growing livelihood. Many fields have been converted to fish culture tanks (చేప చెరువులు), tapping into Andhra Pradesh's thriving coastal fisheries economy.
All 280.79 hectares of irrigated land draw water exclusively through canal systems from the Krishna river — a tremendous agricultural advantage that few villages in the region enjoy.
About 24 hectares support tree crops including coconut palms lining the village paths, providing shade and supplementary income from copra and tender coconuts year-round.
Around 6 hectares serve as permanent pastures. Dairy cattle and bullocks are kept by most households, supporting both milk production and farmwork across the village fields.

As per 2011 Census, Manimeswaram has 1,571 residents (2023 estimates: ~1,826). The village has a notably high sex ratio of 1,086 women per 1,000 men — well above the AP state average of 993.
SC members constitute 30.55% of the village population; ST members 1.02%. The village actively participates in AP government welfare schemes for marginalised communities.
About 795 people are engaged in work activities. An impressive 98.99% are in main (full-year) employment — primarily in agriculture and agricultural labour, one of the region's highest rates.
Children aged 0–6 number 145 (9.23% of the population). The child sex ratio is 1,101 girls per 1,000 boys — significantly higher than the AP average of 939, a positive social indicator.
Literacy stands at 62.13%: male literacy is 64.91% and female literacy is 59.57%. The village is working to close this gender gap, supported by state government literacy programmes.

Manimeswaram celebrates the great Telugu festivals with communal warmth, temple processions, and family gatherings that bind generations together across the Krishna delta.
The grandest Telugu harvest festival. Three days — Bhogi, Makara Sankranti, and Kanuma — marked by bonfires, kite-flying, muggu (rangoli), Haridasu songs, and bullock processions.
Telugu New Year. Homes are decorated with mango leaf torana. Families prepare Ugadi Pachadi (with six tastes) and listen to the Panchanga reading at the village temple.
Clay Ganesh idols are installed in every home. The village reverberates with bhajans, prasadam distribution, and community processions ending with immersion in the Krishna river or village tank.
Nine nights of Devi worship at the Ganganamma temple, Durgamma puja arrangements in homes, and Vijayadasami celebrations marking the triumph of good over evil.
The sacred month of Lord Shiva. Devotees fast, offer prayers at the Shiva temple, and light deepams (oil lamps) on the temple steps every evening at dusk.
